Black OPS 2

So, this game is awesome. How awesome? well i haven't been on here for a week, that's how awesome. Just kidding, Black Ops 2 is good, but just how good? The story picks up some of the loose ends left by its predecessor, and jumps from past to future and back again. The campaign also lets you use custom loadouts for each mission, but you will have to unlock everything that you want to use by completing challenges. Each mission will have 10 challenges, and while you can finish the mission without doing the challenges; they offer a good way to spice things up when you get bored of just shooting stuff. The fan-favorite zombie mode is back, and it features a nifty new map menu, as well as a difficulty selector and a few surprising new modes, like survival and grief, in addition to the regular zombie mode. Black Ops 2 also features the staple of shooter games, MULTIPLAYER!!!!!!!! Multiplayer is fast paced, with weapons that kill in as little as 1 shot, and others that can fire 5-6 rounds per second, the amount of DPS(damage per second) these guns do means quick kills, and fast deaths. Use cover as much as possible, and if you are a bonifide rusher (like myself) keep in mind that flanking is your best weapon, as the maps contain long sightlines, and several chokepoints, if you run straight into groups of entrenched enemies, you will have lots of fun respawning. Since multiplayer is to big for me to do in depth in one post, i'll be throwing a few entrys up with gun statistics, or perk and loadout benefits, stay tuned, and i might even outline the maps! Until i finish those, just remember use cover, reload before you rush in, and take the road less traveled to avoid large groups of "bad dudes".

Halo 4 Legendary Walkthrough-"Shutdown"

Hop in the pelican and fly it out of the hangar, Head to the closest marker, hit "Y" to switch weapons to the laser cannon, keep your distance and use the cannon to kill the phantoms around the waypoint. Land the pelican on the platform and run inside, use the bridge as cover to kill the Prometheans on the lower level. Hop onto the high platform and hit the switch. There are several raised platform you can get on to clear them out with a light rifle. Destroy one target and it will spawn more enemies, you'll have to fight through them to reach the second, the order for these 2 is up to you, but i would recommend doing the one by the door first, it offers a little more cover to get back to the high platform. You can actually blow up the middle target from one of the smaller central platforms without having to go near the enemies. The third target will be the trickiest, this one has the most knights, and fighting to get into that corner is a struggle. use the middle platform again to thin the herd, before closing in and seperating them one by one. Exit through the same hallway you entered in, but you will have to face 2 crawlers and a knight with a new weapon,"The Incineration Cannon", aka the bright red death ball shooter thing! actually, Incineration cannon is shorter.... Kill the crawlers first, and keep your distance from the knight, if he hits you, you are TOAST. Evade his shots and keep firing until he goes down, then grab his gun and remember, have fun with it! :P Hop in the pelican and fly to the second building, which we'll just call "Chief and Cortana's greatest hits", Hop on the Gondola to cross the chasm (Halo2), there will be covenant snipers in the ridges on the right side, The gondola stops and you will have to kill all the covenant in the ridges on the right to get it moving again, Use your light rifle, DMR or Battle Rifle, whichever you have handy, to take out the grunts and jackals, there are 2 snipers on each side, make sure you take them out before getting off the gondola. Close in on the elites at the top and finish them to make it to the switch. Once you unlock the gondola, Angry Prometheans will apear. three nights and a large pack of crawlers in the ruins. As always, clear the crawlers out first, and be sure to isolate the knights, once you have a the ruins cleared, head to the high ridge on the right of the switch (overlooking the gondola), There are 2 knights on the gondola, Use a beam rifle, light rifle, ect. to get rid of them before you jump back onto the gondola and start moving. There will be more knights on the gondola, and in the ridges on your right when you stop again. Patience is the key here, switch to a supressor or other high Rate of fire gun and kill the knights on your gondola by luring them down the decks one at a time, this will give you cover from the prometheans in the ruins. Once the gondola is clear, use the light rifle on the lower deck to clear the crawlers out, then grab the binary rifle off one of the racks and it will make short work of the watchers and a few knights. After you burn through your binary rifle ammo, pick 2 new guns and load them up before you dive into the ruins, move in slowly, making sure you don't have any enemies behind you to flank you. Once you make it to the switch, unlock the gondola again, there will be 2 "insta-killer" knights on the gondola. Use cover and keep them from hitting you, then restock ammo and send the gondola forward again. When the gondola reaches the beam, just jump into it to disable it (Halo:CE). you will be assaulted by a group of watchers, use cover and pick them off one at a time before running back to the gondola. Use the gondola one more time and once you reach the entrance, head back out the way you came in. Jump in the Pelican and head to tower 3. Once landing on tower 3, run down the hallway and take the elevator up, you'll see the ground start to fall away, turn right and the ground falls away there too, but wait; you have a jetpack! hop over the hole in the ground and follow the path forward, the path will split, pick one side and clear it out first, then clear the otherside, not much resistance except the mounted plasma turrets, but they give you stationary targets. Rip one of the cannons out and take it with you if you want a little extra firepower. Where the paths reconverge, head to the left platform to find an incineration cannon and a terminal.into the next area you will find 2 grunts and an elite with a fuel rod cannon, Pick up the cannon if you'd like, then run to the next platform to fight 2 hunters, use the fuel rod or incineration cannon to get rid of one of them, and then you have a pretty easy fight on your hands, keep strafing, firing and be sure not to fall off, and eventually the second hunter will drop too, Pick up whatever guns you feel like hanging on to, then take the gravity lift up. There are 2 simple ways to do this next part, you can either grab a carbine and grid through it on the ground, clearing turrets and resistance from a distance, or you can snag a banshee and fly around like the happiest idiot on earth... or Requiem.
Either way, take the level slowly and clear the turrets and banshees as soon as they are in range, a charged plasma pistol shot will drop most banshees, but the same goes for your banshee, so dont get to close to those harmless little grunts.once you make it to the final bridge, there will be 2 AA turrets and an elite with a fuel rod cannon, along with 2 jackals. Kill the jackals from far away and then kill the enemies operating the turrets from a distance if you have taken the ground approach, or just shoot a ton of green fuel rod bombs at them if you are in a banshee. Hop out and head through the doorway to trigger another cutscene.

Halo 4 Legendary Walkthrough-"Reclaimer"

Grab a jetpack, follow the waypoints, but the elephant is your best friend here. use the rocket turrets to shoot everything to shit, start on the left side turret.there are 2 sniper rifles and 4 weapon racks on the elephant, feel free to use them all because noone else knows how to shoot but the chief. switch to the right side turret and kill the phantoms as they come in, then focus on the ghosts and wraith. Make you way to the designator, and mark the last phantom and then the giant cannon. get back in the elephant and move up to the next area. use long range weapons to kill the foot soldiers, and isolate the wraith. Blow the wraith the hell up, and destroy the 3 shield pylons then proceed to the next checkpoint in the mammoth. Hop in the gauss hog to fight the wraiths and ghosts that the ship drops off, once you have driven a couple loops and killed the vehicles, head to the top of the hill and battle the elites and jackals to get to the grav lift (i recommend driving the warthog as close to the lift as possible and using the turret in the back). Head up the grav lift and kill the enemies, going from back to front. Be sure to assassinate the elite using the ships control panel, just because assassinations look really cool. blow up the waypoint, and jump out of the ship, using your jetpack to land safely. Hop back in the mammoth and rool out to a narrow strip, hop out and grab weapons as you head down the path, this area is filled with snipers, so keep your eyes on the ridges while you battle the foot soldiers.head up the walkway and into a series of structures, where you will encounter 4 knights, isolate and seperate them to make them easier to kill. Enter the building once the crawlers and knights are beaten. Once inside, follow the sentinels, and activate the terminal, then follow the pathways for a cutscene. You will end up in a room with 2 knight and 8 crawlers, but a whole rack of light rifles behind you. leave the room and enter the portal to reappear outside. Jump into a tank and kill 6 wraiths along with a ton of ghosts.(optional: highjack the first wraith and use it to kill the other 5 for an achievement) head out on foot to drop 2 more shield nodes, an elite and 3 grunts. Head back and hop over the rocks, pick up the designator, target the cannon, and watch the cutscene.

Halo 4 Legendary Walkthrough-"Forerunner"

The Path leads to a swarm of enemies, pick up an auto-sentry to help you then head out. The next group of enemies includes a Promethean knight.
He can take a lot of damage, unless you are constantly wearing him down. Clear out the crawlers first so both you and the auto sentry can coordinate fire on the knight. Enter the building and pick which weapon you feel like taking with you, the bolt-shot is a cross between the magnums head shot ability and the plasma pistols overcharge ability; the suppressor is a smg with high capacity, and the light rifle is essentially a battle rifle. Upon exiting the building you will meet 2 knights, set up your sentry and continue to lay down fire on one of them. Once his shield goes down(blue flash), keep up the pressure, otherwise his shield will come back up ridiculously fast. Follow the pathway straight to fight another knight and some crawlers, then into a cave which leads to a checkpoint. This platform has 2 gun cases, 1 on either side, keep refilling your ammo and remember the light rifle does slightly more damage when not ADS. Kill the crawlers first, and the knight will teleport up near you. use the sentry to cover you, and keep firing until he disintegrates. Jump down and look underneath the right platform for a terminal.continue up the path and through the building to run into more enemies, use the ledge and your autosentry to thin the horde before you dive in, and take out the three generators in a counter-clockwise sweep, the one in the back left corner offers cover and is closest to the next waypoint.use the light rifle hipfire to clear the crawlers, use the interior of the buildings for cover and ammo. Scope in to kill the watchers, or they will deflect any attack you aim at the knights. upon destroying the third generator, three knights will apear as will a watcher, again kill the watcher and use the auto-turret and cover to wear the knights down. Climb the tower and deactivate it to get a cut scene. Climb through the portal and proceed to the second tower. Deploy your turret, but let the covenant and Prometheans fight each other and clean up the leftover resistance, using the path to your right and into the middle of the level. Take the oportunity to fill up your weapons and look for new guns, then head up the path, toward a knight and a turret. Kill the knight and stay in cover, because if you come out, the turret will turn you into a well-done chief burger. Kill the turret and enter the tower; use the cover on the right in each room to protect you, deploy your sentry, and wear down the covenant in each level. repeat this strategy until you reach the top level, where one of the knights has an insta-kill laser. stay behind cover and kill the elites, then focus your attention on the knights, if you see the knight begin to charge his laser, duck back behind cover and try to wait him out. Use your turret as a decoy and hit him while he is turned to face it. Head to the waypoint, and try to communicate with the Infinity. Watch the cutscene, and curse a little bit. Jump onto a ghost and drive as fast as you can, while avoiding the walls. reach the portal at the end to get another cutscene.

Halo 4 Legendary Walkthrough- "Dawn"

When you wake up from cryo-sleep and grab Cortana, go into the next room and head down the stairs to find a terminal with the chiefs service record. this will bring you up to speed on the storyline and also net you an easy achievement. Head back upstairs, and follow the pathway, after heading down a series of hallways, you willhave to leap from side to side and up the elevator shaft, the camera will pan in the direction you need to jump to avoid the debris, follow these directions to make it to the next floor. You will be attacked by an elite, just follow the onscreen prompts to send him on a nice vacation.down the hallway you will find a large room full of enemies just wandering around.sneak up behind the elite directly in the middle of the room, on the console, and assassinate him, grab his gun and use it to clean up the grunts running around the room. Open the blast doors to trigger a cutscene, and quickly run back into the hallway you came from to find a magnum. Use the magnum to headshot the grunts on one side, then kill the elite on that side, rinse and repeat on the opposite side, use the hallway as cover, and shoot carefully. If you run out of magnum ammo, fire the assault rifle in short bursts for a similar effect. Once you finish clearing the room, follow the directions to an airlock until you reach a long hallway with enemies, use the indents in the walls on the left and right as cover to help you get closer to the enemies, using burst firing to kill the grunts, until you can square off against the elite. Pick up ammo, and turn the corner to run into more elites, spray them down and head down the stairs to reach an ammo rack. Grab the magnum and use it to clear out the grunts and jackals in the next room(shooting the part of a jackals hand that is not covered by the shield causes him to stagger and give you an easy headshot), then use your remaining magnum ammo and your assault rifle to kill the elite. Pick up the plasma rifle and refill your Assault rifle before exiting into the hallway. down the hallway is a large room and two pathways on either side, use the doorframes as cover and clear the grunts out of the middle room, use the plasma rifle in short bursts for far away grunts, but got full-auto on the ones right by the door. Once the grunts are dead, pick up a plasma pistol and "Overcharge" the jackals shield on either side, then switch to your assault rifle to kill it quickly, repeat this on the other side, then lure the elites out toward you, overcharge there shields and kill them with the assault rifle as well, using grenades to keep the shields down and deal extra damage. Once you have dispatched the elites, follow the directions to the airlock and head outside, you should see a Battle Rifle floating by, grab it and go to your left, there should be a small path behind the debris that will hide you from enemy fire and give you a good view of the enemies on the same level as you. Clear the jackals off your level, picking up a covenant carbine as your new secondary, and use the two ammo stations on this floor to keep yourself well stocked. Finish the remaining enemies from your perch before you activate the panel. When the new enemies drop in, eliminate as many as possible from up high, using the walls as cover from the Phantoms cannons. Once the phantoms fly away, head back toward the ammo stations, and kill any resistance you can see from afar. Head down to the lower level and go to the raised platform in the middle of the ship, use it as cover to kill the enemies that remain, and activate the missile to trigger a cutscene. Run like hell back toward the second airlock, and don't stop to kill enemies, most of them will explode before you even reach them. keep running and then trigger another cutscene.

Halo 4 Legendary Walkthrough

I meant to post the first few parts of this sooner, but i got caught up in the game, The story is phenomenal, but thats another post for another day. That being said, I will be trying to avoid spoilers as much as possible, so you can get the full value of the storyline. There will also be a guide with specific strategies against certain enemies, just as supplementary material to this walkthrough. Each level is going to be labeled Legendary Walkthrough-(level name) so you can navigate through it, but i may end up playing COD:BOPs 2 at some point, so they may not all get posted today. I am pleased to say that the legendary AI has been brought back to it fierce roots, when playing with all the skulls on, even the most veteran Halo player will find themself looking at the chiefs lifeless body. Yes, the solo campaign on legendary will be much harder than halo3 or reach on the same settings. This requires a tactical approach, as your trigger finger and reflexes will not be enough to get you through this game by themselves. Thanks to the increased difficulty, the campaign plays much slower than its predecessors, even though it is shorter it will take you roughly the same amount of time to complete.
You can use the search widget on the left of the website to search which level you are on (i.e Reclaimer, Dawn, etc) to pull up the guide for that level.

Halo 4: The Backstory

For those who grew up playing the original Halo: Combat Evolved into the wee hours of the night, this may seem a bit redundant, but Halo has one of the best detailed story-lines in a game franchise and i would be doing it a disservice to not explain it before "diving in" to halo 4. (If you had to surgically removed from your xbox as a child, or if you a PhD. in Halo-ography, feel free to skip on to the next post where we'll be going over Halo 4 news.) The Halo titles are as follows: Halo: Combat Evolved(2001), Halo 2(2004), Halo 3(2007),Halo Wars(2009), Halo 3: ODST(2009), Halo Reach(2010), Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary(2012) and Halo 4(set to release in 4 days)(2012), Putting these into chronological order within the halo universe, Halo Wars occurred first with its own separate storyline, Then Halo: Reach, as the prequel to the main trilogy, With Halo, Halo 2, and Halo 3 occurring in order, But with Halo 3 and Halo:3 ODST happening simultaneously. Halo: Anniversary is a remake of the original Halo, with upgraded graphics and digitally remastered sound. Humanity is on the brink of annihilation, a group of alien races known as the covenant is decimating every form of resistance humanity can produce.

The covenant posses greater numbers and superior weapons and technology, but humanity has one last hope, the spartan project. Spartans are super-soldiers, proficient in every area of war, capable of turning the tide in even the most unwinnable situations. The spartans were proving a match for covenant forces, slowing their domination across the universe, until Reach. Reach is humanities fortress among the stars, a civilian world with military facilities, and headquarters to ONI; and the SPARTAN program. Reach falls to the Covenant, but not before the UNSC Spartans all give their lives to protect it. Well, almost all the Spartans. One lone spartan escapes Reach aboard the Pillar of Autumn. This spartan just happens to be the Master Chief, one of 2 Spartans with a "Hyper-lethal" rating. This means he is a super bad-ass. The Pillar of Autumn jumps to hyperspace and reaches an uncharted ring-world. This "halo" contains the parasitic species called the flood. Some DUMBASS decides to release the flood, thinking that it is a weapons cache. You learn that halo is the only weapon capable of killing the flood, so you get the key to fire it. You turn it on, but it doesnt start, like an old pickup. Turns out Halo kills EVERYTHING, not just flood, and Cortana just saved you and all the people on Halo. The only way to kill the flood is to blow up the Pillar of Autumn. You barely escape the ring-world, and there are no other survivors....... Until Halo 2 starts, turns out sergeant Johnson survived, and he's almost as cool as you. Oh, and the most lethal Elite in the covenant army survived too, and now he wants to kill you, and then he can die happy. He finds out that the rings were built by the forerunners as weapons to destroy life, he turns on the covenant. You become best friends. you kill a ton of covenant, and then they introduce Brutes. The flood comes to earth and all three factions engage in a super battle royale for the universe; until you kill everything, again. You find the facility that makes the halo rings and destroy it, barely escaping, and ending up stranded in space, where you enter cryo-sleep until Halo 4 begins.

Halo 4 was released TODAY at 12am! It is available at Sam's Club for $54.86. You won't be disappointed.

Halo 4 Legendary Walkthrough-"Requiem"

Scavenge ammo and explore the crash site to find a few "hidden" consoles. Once you have stocked up on ammo, head down the path until you find the warthogs, get in one and enjoy the manly sound as you rev the engine. Follow the mountain path, and enter a clearing where you will find the covenant.follow the path right and get behind the wall. Exit the warthog and kill the grunts and jackals on the right side. use this hill and the nearby gun stand to clear the covenant in the area, staring with the grunts and jackals first. use your hill to "snipe" at the outpost in the back, then go pick up the plasma turret and walk through the little pathway, use your carbine to kill the grunts and jackals quickly, then pick the plasma cannon back up and kill the elite, beware the jackal sniper in the back, get rid of him once the elite is dead. next you have to pick either left or right, do NOT go down the middle hallway.
clear the middle area from either of the 2 ridges, but before the enemies on the pathways off both sides, it will be jackals on the left, followed by grunts, or a mix on the right side, The elite in the middle will use cover and if you have a fuel rod cannon or any more ammo in the plasma cannon, i would use it on him.once the middle is clear, pick left or right and use the ridge as cover to clear whichever side you are going toward. Go up the stairs to encounter a plethora of grunts, once they are all dead, head up to the next level,to meet 4 jackals an a sword-elite.keep your distance from the elite, and try to isolate him from the jackals, either by killing them or getting him to chase you. When you kill him, pick up his active camo, but leave the sword. Enter the doorway, and walk to the back of the large room to access the "cartographer". You will have to reactivate the cartographer by using the 2 generators, after turning the first one on, the covenant will appear use your active camo and reach the second generator, using the natural cover in the room to help get you across. After activating the second pillar, you will have to fight your way to the cartographer. Kill the elites on the lower level first, then head back toward the entrance to find a ledge and cover for a good sniping spot. Kill the grunts and jackals you can see, and then head up the leaft side toward the cartographer to find more carbines and ammo, using the active camo to sneak, and kill the 2 elites. After filling your carbine, walk to the leftside and take the left side path to the cartographer, going up the middle will end in tragedy really quickly. Kill the 2 jackals and then the 3 elites on the large platform. Reactivate the cartographer and you will eventually end up on a hig ledge overlooking enemies and a long pathway.
Eliminate as many enemies as possible before getting on the elevator; take your time and use cover once you reach a hallway that opens to a large structure, go right for a weapons cache, use cover and the magnum to eliminate enemy snipers and a few grunts. The Rpg should be used on the turrets and the ghosts, then use the walkways and plasma cannons on either side to kill the remaining elites. you will need to climb in the structure, the second level features 4 grunts and a sword elite, kill the grunts and use the obstacles to keep the elite away from you. Follow the next pathway to your right and kill the grunts and and elite on the staircase, once you reach the top of the staircase, you will see 2 elites, on the platform above them are 2 hunters, kill the elites (sentinels will help you) then grab the fuel rod cannon in the gun rack below the hunter platform. Use this to make short work of the hunters, and head down the hallway. you will see a raised platform, check below the platform for a terminal, and then proceed up to the platform to get another cutscene.
